Message: <blockquote data-quote="Banshee16" data-source="post: 4349869" data-attributes="member: 7883">I find at many times that when developers etc. are doing things where they are self-motivated (ie. for themselves), things get done in shorter amounts of time than when they're being done for their employer.  It's kind of their prerogative....but at the same time, it's evidence that this kind of editing really isn't *that* hard.As to the D20 market....I don't know how many sales will be generated there.  I know my entire group is bucking the switch and has felt that the game has moved in a direction they're not interested in.....consequently, they're very interested in Pathfinder.  And I was talking to a buddy (not in my group) who owns the FLGS, and he said that his client base has been split....almost right down the middle...half of his customers bought the books and love them, and the other half either bought the books, hate them, and have decided to stay with 3.5, or they have read them, refused to buy them, and will not be switching...in which case there will likely be a market for people still playing 3.5.  This is only one store, but they have 3 locations, so a huge number of the gamers in my area.I suspect that the success or failure of the new edition, and the viability of continued support of 3.5 won't really be known for another year....enough people will buy it based on hype, and then either choose to, or choose not to switch, but they count as sales.  Will they continue to buy more books?  And then there are the people who maybe refused to purchase initially, but might eventually buckle and end up buying the books six or twelve months down the road, and become customers.  Banshee</blockquote>
