[QUOTE="varden, post: 5263855, member: 12142"] Thanks cam, fba, zeph, friday, arlough, aco, jester Tell me what you think about what I have so far. *** the 13-year-old nephew's PC gets a letter from his old mentor and war commander. he has died. To complete the will, the old mentor's prized possession - a dragon egg - must be delivered to to, well, a long distance away, and 13's PC is the only person Mentor trusted to do it. Mentor has two sons, one is a loud bully who is against it, the other is fairly cool. 13 has to find travellng companions, the only ones available are my sister and the 15-yr-old. probly find them in a tavern. anyway, it's the time of year for the harvest games. on their way out of town , they have cross a large field where dozens of men are playing a sport that needs a name. the object is to carry the 'prize' to your team's 'house' at the end of the field. the prize is a leather bag filled with rocks. Mentor happened to be a fan of this sport and has put the dragon egg in a prize bag. the bag might be magically locked, or there might be a magic lock at the place where they need to take it. the teams mistakenly steal the dragon egg and the PCs have to get it back. - skill challenges! the captain of one of the teams is the loud bully son. if they win, they continue on. the neutral referee says "wait, this isn't OUR prize!" "why are there two prizes on the field?" "Sorry guys, but what were we supposed to think?" "Good luck!" If they lose, Bully uses a teleportation circle to vanish with it. I think sis will like caring for a baby dragon, and be mad at someone who kidnaps it. either way, they have to travel to the other place. when they get there, there is a problem. it's haunted, overrun, taken over, or something that makes it a dangerous dungeon. there is a dungeon crawl with clues as to how to unlock the dragon egg bag. at the end there is a big fight with the dungeon inhabitants. when the PCs are almost out of hit points, Bully son shows himself - and offers to help! he doesn't want anything to happen to the PCs, he just wanted to protect the dragon egg. "just because i don't trust you doesn't mean i wanna see you dead. Geez!" then pretty cool son appears with some way to hurt or kill the PC's in their weakened state. he is actually pretty mad and wants the dragon egg. willing to kill for it. he's jealous of the relationship his dad, Mentor, had with 13. skill challenge to figure out Mentor is really 13's dad! i think Sis will dig this part. the best way to beat him is to get inside his head. either way, because Mentor's sons took the easy way in, they didn't get any of the clues needed to finish the adventure but the PCs did, so they need each other. hopefully there is a cool finale. *** So, 1. who or what did they deliver the dragon egg to? 2. why clues and not explicit instructions? 3. what would the clues be? 4. who took over the dungeon? 5. what do i call the sport? 6. what are the rules?
