CORDELL ADDS MINDSCAPES TO MINDSHADOWS

Green Ronin’s Psionic Campaign Setting to Feature Mindscapes Conversion

September 23, 2003—SEATTLE, WA: Green Ronin Publishing is proud to announce that its Mindshadows campaign setting will feature conversion notes for the Mindscapes alternate psionic system written by Bruce Cordell. Cordell is the author of both the Psionic’s Handbook, published by Wizards of the Coast, Inc., and Mindscapes, published by Malhavoc Press.

“As soon as we announced Mindshadows, we started to receive requests for the inclusion of Mindscapes conversions,” said Green Ronin President Chris Pramas. “Bruce was gracious enough not only to allow them, but also to write them himself.”

Mindshadows is the first psionic campaign setting for the d20 System, and the third in Green Ronin’s Mythic Vistas line. It is scheduled to ship in October.

This is great news. I'm especially pleased because if I don't like the 3.5 psionics converisons I can still use this material with Bruce's converions.

Good deal from both companies.

Excellent.

Not that it's that hard to convert existing psionics stuff to Mindscapes -- it's sort of written for that. But it will be nice to have the material written with an eye for it.

Yuan-Ti aren't SRDed, are they? I assume GR had to get special permission to use them?

That's right. Wizards gave us permission to use Yuan-ti and Mind Flayers in Mindshadows. Gotta have 'em in a psionic setting!

Wow! This is great news.

Isn't Mindshadows supposed to have a number of psionic creatures?

The psionic creatures got their own book, which was released in July. It's called Monsters of the Mind. Mindshadows does include info on the PC races and their abilities in the setting though.

Yaaay. I was pretty excited after reading about the Ashrams. (not sure why they were called fighting schools, as they're much more but anyway).
This makes mindshadows look even better.

Double huzzah! This is a great example of the d20 license working at its best: good ideas enhancing other good ideas. I'm really happy to hear this news.
