Man-thing
First Post
The Grand OGL Wiki started in August of 2008 as a result of Matthew Sprange of Mongoose Publishing deciding to make the OGC from their old d20 products available for everyone if someone crazy enough volunteered to extract and build wiki for it. Starting slowly and utilizing a back-up site for development the wiki garnered a lot of interest but few helpers initially. Though the ones who came were very dedicated.
In the four months that the Grand OGL Wiki has been around it has garnered:
- 4200 unique visitors
- 6853 visits
- 49457 pages
- 63523 hits
- 914.73 MB of bandwidth
Or Top 5 Page-Urls visited are the publication list, the homepage, reviewmas, monster encyclopaedia and classic play: book of the planes.
91.7% of our users as Windows Users, 3.8% are Mac Users
47.9% use Firefox, 45.8% use Internet Explorer
76.6% of people come to the Grand OGL Wiki from direct links (like from the LJ, Kobold Quarterly, Mongoose, Paizo, EnWorld) or from bookmarks. The amount coming from the twitter account seems to be growing.
The current back-up of the site is 5.92 MB (compressed), 13.8 Mb (uncompressed) covering 1700+ files.
OGC: Open Game Content has been drawn from 2 products from Dragonwing Press, 2 products from Creative Mountain Games, 5 products from Fifth Element Games (with all green-lighted for use), 31 partial or complete products from Mongoose Publishing and 3 products from Reality Deviants Press. In four months we have uploaded 43 books.
Reviews: Reviews are a new addition to the website. So far I have a handful of reviews from Yair Rezek, a review from Sean Holland, a whack of classic reviews by Crothian and several of my classic an new reviews. In total there are now 99 reviews (66 for Reviewmas [three left to go, I'm behind], 33 other)
Author Profiles: Profiles have been exceedingly difficult to get. I guess this is because the authors are out there creating contenft for us to purchase. To date, I have 5 author profiles (and one is mine).
New Content: Lately I haven't had a chance to do a lot of writing, but I need to find the time to do more. Since I'm a strong supporter of 3.5/3.P and believe that it is still a viable system I'll be continuing to develop content for this ruleset. As I create new things, probably utilizing some OGC from the Grand OGL Wiki, I be posting it in the new creations directory. Up now is the "Mistress of the Web", an aranea arcane archer. I believe Stefen was going to write the fluff for it.
Thanks for supporting the wiki as a user, a donating publisher, or as a helper. I expect it to grow even larger in 2009.
