Let me bring up the point that in 2nd edition AD&D Bards had to keep spell books. Limiting them to what ever they could scrounge up from the Mage spell list. Now in 3rd Ed. Bards have a list of their own. It is made quite clear that a Bard spell is an Arcane spell that does not rely on Devine influence/energy to work. If the folks at WTC didn't think that non-holy folk, (for lack of a better term), should be able to heal, then they wouldn't have given an Arcane magic user the access to the spells. I'm sure that they've though of the inevitable possibility of the crossovers. I'm just trying to explore a very grey spot on the rules. It's still not going to be easy for My mage Gratis to get the spells. It will cost him, time, lots of gold, & access to a bard for study. The way that the Bard that he currently has access to lives his life at present, well he might not be around long enough for Gratis to fulfill his dreams. Thanks to all of you who are adding your 2 cents, I really appreciate the input.
