Freeport's in crisis, as war breaks out on the high seas and orcs riot in the streets. A map promises the biggest haul of booty in history, but nothing is as it seems. Buried with that treasure is a terrifying evil Freeport thought banished forever. Black Sails Over Freeport, the first mega-adventure for the award-winning pirate city, is filled with enough swashbuckling challenges to test the mettle of any band of heroes. Its 256 pages are packed with action, intrigue, and danger, delivered with the style and professionalism you've come to expect from Green Ronin. Black Sails are on the horizon. Do you have what it takes to face them?

Any chance of this being a hardbound instead of perfect or a limited edition type of thing with a black cover or something along those lines?

We look at hardbacking carefully, as it's more expensive to do. Since adventures tend to be the worst selling type of accessory, they aren't a good bet for hardbacking, unfortunately.

Oh come on, go hardback! It would look great sitting next to Necropolis. OK, kidding, I do understand the rationale. While I think it's unfortunate, it's hardly a market reality you have any control over.

Just out of curiosity, what does the page count have to be in order for it to be considered a mega-adventure? I counted Hell in Freeport as the first Freeport mega-adventure.

It says 6+, does that mean it will take characters from 6-20?

How easily would it be to run the trilogy as a lead in for this?

I am currently running RttToEE, but maybe I'll pick this one up for the next campaign.

6+ means you're meant to be 6th level when you start, but you can run the adventure for higher level parties with a little tinkering.

The trilogy is a great lead in, as you you'll likely be in the neighborhood of 6th level by the time you finish.

So, this would work good, as a new module, past the trilogy, now, how high of level would this get you? Would (I think it is) Hell in Freeport, fit in right after this?

It is obviously set in Freeport, but do you need the actual city supplement to run the mega-adventure?

Having the supplement will certainly enhance the adventure, but it is by no means a prerequisite. Freeport was designed in such a fashion so that it could be dropped into any existing campaign world, which is the model we tried to follow.

There are a few specific places mentioned in the adventure that are in the city sourcebook (and, at present, one Denizen), but again, not having it shouldn't present a problem.

Of course, I'd be remiss if I didn't point out that the Freeport sourcebook is a really an excellent addition to any gaming library. And the fact that I contributed to it has absolutely nothing to do with it.
