[Green Ronin] Modern GM Screen Revealed

The art for our Modern GM Screen has been revealed at last. If you head on over to www.greenronin.com you can not only see the image itself, an awesome scene by James Ryman, but also a cool flash animation that our hard-working webmaster Evan Sass put together. The screen is at print now and will be out next month.

It's almost like WoTC is letting The Game Mechanics handle the d20 Modern line outside of the Urban Arcana book.

You'd almost think that they wanted to publish a core book and then let 3rd party publishers provide support to drive core book sales... but that's probably just crazy talk.

It's a little bit more this time. The Modern Companion books are basically splatbooks that WoTC would normally put out. And a screen? If that doesn't seem like a mandatory WoTC item, I'm a little confused.

The flash is cool btw but needs to show the inside of the thing too.

Honestly, we were too. Before its release, all kinds of publishers were making claims of Modern support. We thought we might do Ultramodern Firearms and then move on, but so few companies stepped up and released Modern books that we decided to make a go of it. Of course, teaming up with the Game Mechanics made that a whole lot easier.

Maybe those other companies are having second thoughts about supporting d20 Modern.

I mean what can you do when fans are already comparing such a late-published modern-day RPG from Wizards to AEG's Spycraft, the first d20 modern-day RPG ruleset?

I can only hope that the Game Mechanics will continue to support d20 Modern.
