One question though: When will it be available? Is it reasonable for me to put it on my Christmas wish list and hope to get it?

We posted an update to our website yesterday:

Blue Rose has suffered several last minute snags, including the editor getting into a car crash. These have contributed to Blue Rose not getting to print this month. At this point the game would hit just before Christmas, which is in fact a terrible time to launch a new game. We have thus reluctantly decided to push Blue Rose into January. In the interim, we will continue to preview the game and we'll be offering a fast play demo PDF soon. We apologize for the delay but we are confident that the final book will be worth the wait.

So, no, you can't put it on your Christmas list. On the other hand, you can certainly buy it with your Xmas money.
