Greyhawk CS Wish List

If WotC published a 320 page campaign setting for Greyhawk:

What FIVE elements of the past incarnations of the setting MUST, in your opinion, appear in that game to make it a "valid" interpretation? What two such things that have appeared in the past absolutely MUST NOT appear in the game?

This thread idea stolen from Erik Mona:

Please advance the damn timeline! As it stands now, 595 CY has been a hell of a year for Greyhawk, since every 3E mention (and I think some of the late 2E ones also) are in that year...it's getting to be a bit too much.

I think you mean 591 cy, as 595 cy is the current year in the Living Greyhawk campaign with 596 cy beginning in January 2006.

Whoops, my bad. I admit to being confused there.

While it's nice to see that Living Greyhawk, at least, is advancing (which it must, being a Living Campaign), I wish they'd do that for the "official" campaign. Seriously, the next campaign setting book should kick the timeline forward five years or so and space out the various adventures between 591 and then.

Hi,

The regional feats from Dragon should be included, along with some prestige classes based on Greyhawk organizations (Scarlet Brotherhood, Knights of the Hart etc).

Also, adventure sites, like those included in the 1e Greyhawk Adventures book, but with maps and encounters.

Cheers

Richard

What I'd like to see.

1. Info on the Scarlet Brotherhood
2. The regional feats from Dragon (after some balance tweaks)
3. Maps! LOADS of maps!
4. Incorporate some of the big happenings from the Living campaign, such as the reclamation of part of the Shield Lands, the schism in Veluna, the war between Ket and Tusmit. This one I know will be controversial, but LG is, for many younger gamers and newcomers, their first introduction to the World of Greyhawk.

1 Better maps, with explicit boundaries and locations of roads.
2 No stinking metaplot or timeline advances to overwrite my campaign assumptions once a year.

The bad thing is it *AIN'T* gunna happen ever :)

I've asked Charles Ryan if they ever had plans for such a thing and he's said no. There's no plans for Greyhawk as evidenced by the lack of Greyhawk city articles in Dungeon and Dragon Magazines. Erik Mona had freelancers working on articles such as for Irongate but they got canned from the WOTC brass.

But *sigh* I guess there's wishful thinking :)

I'd like to see material on the advanced timeline from Living Greyhawk, new monsters that weren't in the Living Greyhawk Journal, maybe some reprints from the LGJ. A continuation of the Free City articles from the LGJ maybe some new material worked up on old places like the Tomb of Horrors.
