[Grim Tales] Character Creation (new race) question

[font=Verdana,Geneva,Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif]Hi there!

I bought Grim Tales a few days ago, and I want to create new races and I have a few questions. I hope this is the right place to ask my doubts ;)

I want to give my new race something similar like Paladin´s class Divine Grace but only for Fortitude and Will saves. ¿How much CR can be this?

I saw that gnomes have +0.0125 CR for Spell-like abilities and they throw lvl 0 spells. I don´t understand the sum that makes that CR ¿Can anyone explain it to me, please? If anyone can explain me the whole process with a lvl 1 druid spell will be great! :)

How much CR cost to have +1 to a Fortitude, Reflex or Will save?

Thank you very much and sorry about my english I try to do my best.

When in doubt, +0.2 CR. You might be tempted to reduce this cost, but because you cannot predict how players will try to "tweak" it, for example by increasing their CHA to ridiculous amounts, I would just leave it at a flat +0.2. You are always better to "over charge" than to "under charge."

How many times per day and at what caster level?

Although to be honest, it really doesn't matter that much. I would simply add up all of the other factors you want and, assuming it doesn't start to add up over CR 0.5, just add the spell-like ability you want. You can see that spell-like abilities do not add up to a great amount. For the gnomes, +0.0125 CR doesn't really affect much. You might as well say +0.0.

The specific formula is (caster level) x (spell level) x (.001) x (number of uses per day).

For a 1st level spell, once per day, with caster level = character level, I would say +0.02.

See? Not much.

How much CR cost to have +1 to a Fortitude, Reflex or Will save?

Cost for a +1 bonus to all saves (Fort, Reflex, and Will) is +0.2. For any one of the three Save types, I would use +0.1.

Your english is fine-- you should be more worried about your choice of font, color, and font size. ;)

Thank you very much! I think I can now try to do a lot of things I have in mind ;)
But I have some doubts again...

How much can I improve a lvl 1 character until half the CR plug-ins? 0.5 CR as you say in your message?

About the spell, I want it to do it permanent (It´s for Pass without trace) so I think lvl caster 1 x spell lvl 1 x 0.005 equal 0.005 [I think is too low for a permanent spell, isn´t it?].

And here´s another question: I don´t have to raise CR more than usual if the Atributtes raised are Strength, Dex or Constitution?

Can I add to a race an alignment restriction for -0.2 CR?

Thanks again, and sorry for the inconvenience.

PD: About the font I don´t knw how to change it! I use Mozilla Firefox, can it be the reasonP? :)

Technically, if you hit 0.5, you have to round up. So you could go up to 0.499. Personally, I would consider going up to about 0.4 and then apply a couple of downward modifications (-1 skill point per level and -1 feat).

If it always remains at caster level 1, then your calculation is correct. And no, it's not too low: Pass without Trace isn't going to break CR.

And here´s another question: I don´t have to raise CR more than usual if the Atributtes raised are Strength, Dex or Constitution?

No, you don't. Every attribute is useful. If you make a class with bonus STR/DEX/CON, then fighter type players will choose it. If you make a class with bonus INT/WIS/CHA, then spellcaster type players will choose it.

Can I add to a race an alignment restriction for -0.2 CR?

I wouldn't recommend it, it's terrible design. Alignment restrictions aren't terribly useful in the first place, even for classes, but you have the further problem of what happens if the character changes alignment: If all Whatzits must be good, and the character switches alignment, does he suddenly cease being a Whatzit?
