[Grim Tales] Help me write an adventure

Munin

First Post
In my area (Jacksonville, Fl), Grim Tales doesn't seem to be to popular. In fact, when I ordered it from my FLGS, the owner, a good friend of mine, hadn't heard of it.
So, to spread the word of this great ruleset, I've decided to run a Grim Tales adventure when during the local con.

I haven't had much experience with the system, and I'd really like to run something that brings out the flavor of Grim Tales, so I'm looking for your advice...What do YOU think I should run? I'd prefer something pre-published, but I'll run with just a good idea. Any genre will do, so long as it brings out the Grim Tales flava.

Thanks!

You can't really go wrong with a League of Extraordinary Gentlemen setup. I find that setting the PCs somewhere between 6th and 12th level is best.

I've run "The Shocking Disappearance of Nikola Tesla" with the LXG at 6th level, versus Wellsian-style Martians.

I've run the LXG at 12th level through the Tomb of Horrors.

I've run a Fallout game (with classic Fallout NPCs) against a Cthulhoid menace.

And most recently I ran, "The Seven Saxons" which was a little Beowulf/Dragonslayer riff.

Wulf,

Running a LXG style game is a brilliant idea. Unfortunately I have no real experience with the setting beyond watching the movie :)
I'm particularly interested in the "The Shocking Disappearance of Nikola Tesla" bit. If you have any old adventure notes or the like that you wouldn't mind sharing, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Not really, unfortunately.

You would be amazed how easily you can put together a good 4 hour session. You don't need as many notes as you might think.

Your convention is a long way off yet. We can hash out something here in this thread (or another) if you want. It'd be fun. There are lots of other Grim Tales folks here who might pitch in.

You got yourself a deal! We can use this thread if you want.

I just ordered LXG vol 1&2 from my local book store. You know, purely for research purposes...

Maybe I am a ginormous geek, but I am actually excited about this thread. :D

I will pitch in too, if anything comes to mind. Ignore any nonsense I suggest, however.

Any and all suggestions are welcome!

We've already decided on theme...The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, but that's about as far as I've gotten at this point.
I like Wulf's idea...the disappearance of Nikola Tesla and little green men from outer space. I also wouldn't mind doing something similar to Hellboy, with the party facing off against a Rasputin style menace.

In any case, all the details will be posted here. When we're done, I'd like enworlders to be able to pull a ready-to-run LXG adventure right off the thread.
