Grim Tales & Inzeladun

I was looking at Grim Tales today and I like it. It is not classless but is pretty darn close. No fighters, mages, sorcerers, rogues or anything like that. It is like OGL Wild West and D20 modern, in that each "class" simply is based around a prime attribute. Someone with a high intelligence might go for the "smart hero" class, etc. Multiclassing is still allowed. Also, there are no preset "powers" per level. You get to choose your own.

Ya, D20 Modern does a lot to move toward a "class-less" class-based game. It is an interesting compromise. I've thought it would be really cool to take the D20 Modern framework and create a superhero game out of it. I've picked up a couple of takes on that, but none of them quite ring true for me.

I would think a Superhero game would flesh out that skeleton nicely.

Anyway, I am growing more and more enamoured of Grim Tales. I like the magic system. It has the pulp atmosphere that Iron Heroes lacks - also Iron Heroes has the 'labelling' issue associated with its classes.
