D&D 5E Gygax's Tabular Doom in 5E

First Post
Gygax's Tabular Doom, as we all know, is an arcane spell which causes the target to receive a result randomly rolled from one of the tables in the core rulebooks, after randomly determining which table. Forcing a target to roll on the random demon nose shape table, or the courtesan sub-type table (saucy trollop!) from the urban wandering monster tables, both from the appendices of the 1E DMG, were among my favorite results. Has anyone devised a list of all the 5E random results tables, so that Gygax's Tabular Doom can be used in 5E? Which of them would be most fun to inflict on a target?

I don't really see anything in 5e that would preclude using any of the 1e DMG tables as is.

But, coming up with new random tables for, well, anything, is always fun.

It's a spell that causes random effects generated by randomly selecting from the proliferation of tables in the 1E DMG.

but, how would that work? I'm maybe still fried from a morning of finals and prepeing for the next final exam, but what would rolling on say a random dungeon room chart do if cast at an open air market... or the random harlet table on a boat or... is this a joke spell am I reading too much into it?

but, how would that work? ... or the random harlet table on a boat

Roll 1d12

1-4 Target is transformed into a harlot, type determined by the harlot sub-table. Transformation is ended by Dispel Magic, Remove Curse or by earning (1d20x100) GP as a harlot. See "Downtime Activities", and also "Downtown Activities". When the transformation ends, the target must make a CON save or incur a level of Exhaustion.

5-6 A harlot of the given type is magically summoned. All boat crew of appropriate alignment, race and gender(s) gain +37% morale boost for the duration of the summon, but lose (4+1d4)x10 GP.
(5E conversion: the harlot is actually a celestial, infernal or fey being, in the form of a harlot. If the harlot is celestial, then the harlot takes 1d6 falling damage on arrival.)

7-8 A harlot of the randomly-rolled type is revealed as a stow-away. All boat crew of the appropriate alignment, race and gender(s) gain *retroactive* +37% morale boost. The harlot's lair, typically under the forecastle (or, as sailors pronounce it, f'c'l), contains the following booty: (4+1d4)x10 GP per affected crew member, and a Ring of Adornment. (In low-magic settings, downgrade the latter to Lipstick of Adornment, with 1d8+1d10 uses remaining.) [Roll on Random Color Table to determine color of lipstick, rerolling a result of taupe or beige.]

9-10 A harlot encounter is now part of the target's destiny. There is no immediately visible result, but the next time the target is in an urban area at night and a Wandering Monster roll would be made, the result is automatically a harlot, and roll at that time on the harlot sub-table. Sufficiently advanced magic can detect an aura of Destiny around the target; a Rogue (qv) can sense the exact nature of the destiny.

11 Roll again on d6, double the result, and apply that result to this table.

12 Roll on the random demon nose shape generation table (qv), apply that shape to the harlot's nose, then roll again on this table.
