Bear in mind, these aren't like the Call of Cthulhu movie from a while ago. They seem to be assorted HPL related projects from all over.

For instance, "Dreams of Cthulhu" was actually a pilot for a TV show in the UK called "Rough Magick" (starring Avon from Blake's 7).

Hands down the best Lovecraft movie ever made.

These aren't new at all. They've been available from Lurker Films for a while.

In fact, vol. 5 is available at Lurker Films right now, but I could not find it on the amazon.com site.

I believe "Lurker Films" : HPL movie adaptations as "Arkham House" : HPL writings (that is, expressly set up, via the HPL Film Festival and Lurker Films) to "promote the works of H.P. Lovecraft, literary horror, and weird tales through the cinematic adaptations by professional and amateur filmmakers." (from their web site)

The prices are better on amazon, of course.

I think it's more likely they are cashing in on his popularity. They scour the planet for any possible HPL inspired film or TV show, get the US rights, then release it on DVD in the US.

These have been out for awhile. I know I've had Cool Air vol 1 dvd for at least 2.5 years, maybe longer, I got it when it came out...preordered it through Previews.

I just watched a great flick this past weekend about Lovecraft. Its called "The Strange Case of Howard Phillips Lovecraft." It's a documentary about his life and work, but it's nararrated as if it were a novel akin to his own work, with the viewer cast as Lovecraft. The imagery is cut-out animation (think Brother's Quay-lite) and archival footage and pictures. Very cool and befitting of his written work.

You can rent it from Netflix.
