I submit these ideas for the perusal of all. I have never found any "official" material about these possible variant races. Both seem to be the material of house rules for the most part. Moreover, I saw no point in writing up the "half-grey elven", "half-wild elven", or "half-wood elven" statistics, as they would really just fall under the same heading as regular half-elves. The following two races, however, defy the regular statistics of half-elves. ***** HALF-AQUATIC ELVEN RACIAL TRAITS: These are in addition to the basic high elf traits, except where noted here.

Half-aquatic elven base swim speed is 20 feet.
Gills: Half-aquatic elves can breathe underwater for 1 hour per point of Constitution (after that, refer to the suffocation rules on page 88 in the DUNGEON MASTER's Guide).
HALF-DROW ELVEN RACIAL TRAITS: These are in addition to the basic high elf traits, except where noted here.

Darkvision: Half-drow elves can see in the dark up to 60 feet. Darkvision is black and white only, but it is otherwise like normal sight, and half-dark elves can function just fine with no light at all.
Spell Resistance 11 + class level.
***** Just to explain, I included spell resistance for half-drow elves because regular half-elves get the same "Immunity against sleep magic" and "saving throw bonus versus Enchantment spells" that regular elves do. Meaning, if half-elves get the exact same magical resistances as normal elves, then spell resistance should crossover from drow elves to half-drow elves as well. As for dividing the respective vision abilities of half-aquatic elves (seeing 2 times father than humans rather than 4 times) and half-drow elves (darkvision 60 feet rather than 120 feet) by two, I would only consider giving them full access to these vision abilities if half-aquatic elves would eventually suffocate from being out of the water (rather than from being underwater), and if half-drow elves accepted their -1 light sensitivity penalty. I would also give any half-aquatic elf (who eventually suffocated from being out the water) a base swim speed of 40 feet (the normal standard for aquatic elves). Basically, any half-aquatic elf who is more accustomed to being in water would have taken to swimming like any other aquatic elf. Let me know what you think.
