So after all these changes to the template what's left? She has her father's Minotaur Cunning (bonus vs. maze spells and inerring intenal compass, i.e. always knows which way is north), +2 Natural Armor, the Scent ability, +2 to Con, +2 bonuses to Search, Spot, and Listen, and Track as a bonus feat.
I'm putting together a NPC to run with a small group of characters in an Eberron adventure. The character is a girl, a young teen, about 15, an orphan for all her live on the dark dirty lower streets of Sharn. She is the daughter of a pair of Droaamish mercenaries who came through Sharn long ago. Her mother, a medusa, never left Sharn for she died giving birth. Her father, a minotaur, was deeply in love and loved with her mother but was not there at the time of birth being away on the front. Elissa doesn't know if he even knew about her being concieved, but she's never really thought about it as he never returned from the front and she presumes he died there never knowing of the death of his wife and birth of his daughter. Elissa is CG and reveres the Sovereign Host. The difficulty is that she takes much more after her mother than her father. I'm using Medusa character levels out of Savage Species in conjunction with the Half-Minotaur template out of Dragon #313 to create Elissa. The difficulty I'm having is that the template (A) totally changes her head, which is problematic for a Medusa, and (B) increases her size - and I was thinking of making her smallish - about 5'4", slight build. Visually I imagine her having a bit of hair which grows out between the scales of her head in an attractive, though a bit unsettling manner - hair and scales just don't go well together. She also has a pair of small horns poking through her snakes and a slight Minotaurish type snout though scaled with hairs as mentioned above. So a bit of it shows, but she's mostly Medusa. So she's still medium, instead of large, and she only can't really gore effectively at all - her snakes get in the way, she lacks the Minotaur strength, but also their Intelligence penalty. The unaltered template is LA +1. I was still planning on using it as LA +1. Does this sound reasonable? Or am I just way out in left field? I always wanted to play a character like this, but it wasn't until Eberron came out that it actually began to make sense as a character concept.
