half-ogre stats?

I've seen many people bring up the half-ogre race. Which book introduces this race?

I've cobbled together the following from various posts: they are ECL+1 and Large size.

If they are in a core rules source and I've overlooked them, could someone post a reference? If non-core, could someone post a brief description of their crunchy bits?

Thanks.

They're from an appendix in Savage Species. I'm away from my books, though, and don't have much info available, sorry...

Just have a look at the iron kindom players guide (very good by the way). Besides some quite interresting races as trollkin and nyss you will find a race called ogrun. Large halfe Ogres with ecl +1.

The Dragonlance Campaign Setting includes half-ogres as a player character race. They're not quite the same as the Savage Species half-ogre.

Cheers,
Cam

check the Creature Catalog (under hosted sites for ENWorld) for a good one,

the DragonLance Campaign Setting has one (very good btw, like Cam said)

and Savage Species has one ...

the ones in CC and DLCS are Medium sized and I liked the look of them (stat wise).

I have a home brewed half ogre/orc race. But I don't think thats what you're looking for. Probably about the same as the savage species one. But mine is ECL +2.

Since it's already in another thread, posting it here should be *legal* :D

Half-Ogre
+6 Str, -2 Dex, +2 Con, -2 Int, -2 Cha
Large: -1 AC, -1 attack rolls, 10 foot reach
Speed: 30'
Darkvision 60'
+4 natural armor
Treated as giants (can use giant weapons and racially specific magic items useable only by giants)
Auto Lang: Giant and Common
Bonus Lang: Draconic, Gnoll, Goblin, Orc, and Abyssal.
Fav Class: Barbarian
Level Adjustment: +1.

My question is, how come the Half-Ogre template I've seen looks like this?

Half-Ogre (version 2?)
Str +4, Int –2, Cha –2,
Speed: 40'*
Darkvision 60’
Natural Armor +2
If the Base Creature was of Small or Medium size, its size is
increased by one category, with all the appropriate changes to its
ability scores, etc., plus a +10’ improvement to base movement*.
These changes are in addition to the bonuses and penalties listed.
Considered a Giant as well as its base creature type.

Level Adjustment: +1.
