Message: <blockquote data-quote="zen_hydra" data-source="post: 2692146" data-attributes="member: 6227">My absolute favoritist HollandaiseOct 31 is the date that my wife and I got married.  Oddly enough, it being a holiday was not really a consideration in our decision to getting married on Halloween.  Our families were not thrilled with each other (and we were at odds with all of them at the time), so we decided to elope.  We are not religious people (we are reverent, introspective, and spiritual, but not religious), so we wanted the county judge to marry us.  He was out on 2 weeks vacation.  We really wanted to get married soon (we both had taken our vacation time off work to get married and only had a week to get the job done).Though we were both raised Roman Catholic, neither of us were believers anymore, so that wasn't an option....but we wanted to get married sooner rather than later, so we just opened a phonebook and went down the list of churches; calling to see who would be willing to marry us on, or around, that day (which happened to be Oct 29).  Almost every church wanted you to be a member of their church and/or go through a set of counseling sessions to make sure we knew what marriage was all about. We were about to give up hope on getting married any time soon...when a Presbyterian church with a brand new pastor said he would be happy to marry us (In a non-religious ceremony even), but he needed at least a couple of days to figure out how the ceremony was supposed to go (he had never married anyone before and I think he was somewhat intimidated).  So we got married on October 31, and all of the rest of the details of that ceremony and that day are mine and my wife’s to have and keep for ourselves.  So Halloween is our favorite holiday (and it falls between our birthdays Oct4 and Nov18)We celebrated our ninth wedding anniversary yesterday <img src="https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/joypixels/assets/8.0/png/unicode/64/1f642.png" class="smilie smilie--emoji" loading="lazy" width="64" height="64" alt=":)" title="Smile    :)"  data-smilie="1"data-shortname=":)" />  <img src="https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/joypixels/assets/8.0/png/unicode/64/1f642.png" class="smilie smilie--emoji" loading="lazy" width="64" height="64" alt=":)" title="Smile    :)"  data-smilie="1"data-shortname=":)" /></blockquote>
