While I'm not one for conspiracy theories, I believe it's plausible. Halo 2 definitely felt unfinished - it has one of the worst endings in modern video game history (especially considering you have to buy a whole new console just to see it properly finished).

Spoilers for those that probably will NEVER play the game?

Nothing but love for the teaser. It's exactly what I wanted it to be -- cinematic and haunting.

If you like the Halo storyline at all, I can't see how this wouldn't move you.

It's basically a big cliffhanger. Master Chief heads back to earth on a Cov ship, Flood are going too, the Halo's are activated and can only be shut down from the Ark, etc.

Mind you, the cliffhangers would have been acceptable, if the game wasn't quite short as a result.

I'd only agree with this statement if the sequel to complete such a cliffhanger was on the same system, released in less than a year and a half.

Otherwise, have a proper and reasonable ending (no one says you still can't 'set it up' for a sequel).

In a lot of ways, Halo 2 is about the Arbiter and the Covenant civil war. I think they did give us a proper ending to that story. At least as much as you can for a cliffhanger.
