:) Happy B-Day J. R. R. Tolkien! :)

January 3, 1892 - September 2, 1973

While some will say he wasn't the primary influence of RPGing, I'm guessing he was both directly a major influence, and indirectly an influence on most of the other influences, if you take my meaning and begging your pardon, Mister Gamer. :D

If he hadn't been born, what would you likely be doing for a hobby these days?

Happy B-day to a man who's imagination and writing has inspired the dreams and minds of millions of people around the world.

Let us raise a pint to Ronald and the rest of the Inklings, then. :)

What would I have done as a hobby? I would have kept on reading, especially medieval epics, just as I did before and do now ;)

Better question, would have there been medival books out in the first place?

My hobbies...hmmm, lets see.

Ah, Chest Deep in comics books.

Elbow deep in building models(cars, planes, ships, and the like) which I don't do anymmore.

Possiblity no movie collection(which I have now)

And...my favorite as a young one, reading mystery novels by Enid Blyton, whose books, left on me, a heavy scene of adventure.

Anyone who says Tolkien wasn't the primary force behind RPGs is ignorant and should beat themselves with reeds in pennance.

I highly doubt he'll get the message, but Happy Birthday!
