Speaking of police. I attract an unusually high number of cops while doing my job. I know this because I've talked to others who have been at it far longer than I and they don't seem to have nearly as many random encounters. Just a couple of days ago was my most recent. I passed a cop on a road. After he passed me he flashed his blue lights. I kept going. He must of turned around and tracked me down. As I was backing out of a customers drive way I saw him coming up the road. I waited for him to pass, of course he didn't, he just sat there. I backed out and he moved forward and blocked me. He turned on his blues and his spotlight and shined it in my eyes. I lowered the sun visor and threw my arms up in a questioning manner. "What, what?" as he approached I repeated myself. Him: You were stopped on the road back there. You're driving on dead end roads. Bad things happen at night." This sounded almost like a threat. But I know he was talking about crimes happening at night. Me: I'm delivering papers. Lifting up a newspaper beside me. Him: I didn't see any newspapers. You'll be free to go. I hate that cops have this power over citizens. I wasn't doing anything wrong. He shouldn't be able to stop me like that. I've looked into this. Crime DOES NOT INCREASE at night. Crime happens at all hours of the day AND night. A few weeks ago I had cop track me down thanks to their big brother like surveillance system miles away and nearly an hour after passing him in neighborhood. The cop was waiting outside an apartment building after I left it. I pulled beside him and said. "What's up?" He radioed his partner saying he had me. He got out of his car and asked me to shut off mine. He asked why I was in the neighborhood he had seen me in earlier and why I left in a hurry. I said I'm delivering newspapers and want to get done as fast as possible but I wasn't exceeding the speed limit. This one after checking my ID told me I was free to go. Again I hadn't done anything wrong. Too much power.
