Happy Halloween (And a thank-you monster bearing gifts from AAP)

It seems that Dryden: Hero or Horror is going to break $50 in just the few days it's been out! As a gift, I'm offering not only a Dryden upgraded monster, but also letting him carry a gift from AAP directly into your dice-clutching hands!

I hope this gives thanks to all of my customers and co-publishers, and offers something fun for your Halloween game!

Here he comes!

Ankheg/Dryden 3:
CR 6; LA —; Large Magical Beast; HD 3d10+12 and 3d8+12; hp 54; Init +1; Spd 30 ft. (6 squares), burrow 20 ft., (Tendril form allows Climb 10, Swim 5); AC 19 (–1 size +1 Dex, +9 natural), touch 10, flat-footed 18; Base Atk +4/+13; Atk Bite +8 melee (2d6+7 plus 1d4 acid) or Tendril +8 melee (1d6+5); Full Atk (same); Space/Reach 10 ft./5 ft. (5 ft. with tendrils); SA Improved grab, spit acid; SQ Darkvision 60 ft., low-light vision, tremorsense 60 ft.; AL Always neutral; SV Fort +8, Ref +4, Will +3; Str 21, Dex 13, Con 17, Int 1, Wis 13, Cha 6.
Skills and Feats: Climb +8, Listen +6, Spot +3, Alertness, Toughness, Born Dryden, Tendril Bind
Dryden Talents: Hybrid Form, Tangle Form, Reformation I, Form Tendrils, Malleable I
Improved Grab (Ex): To use this ability, an ankheg must hit with its bite attack. It can then attempt to start a grapple as a free action without provoking an attack of opportunity. If the ankheg is damaged after grabbing its prey, it retreats backward down its tunnel at its land speed (not its burrow speed), dragging the victim with it.
Spit Acid (Ex): 30-ft. line, once every 6 hours; damage 4d4 acid, Reflex DC 14 half. One such attack depletes the ankheg’s acid supply for 6 hours. It cannot spit acid or deal acid damage during this time. The save DC is Constitution-based.
An ankheg does not use this ability unless it is desperate or frustrated. It most often spits acid when reduced to fewer than half its full normal hit points or when it has not successfully grabbed an opponent.
Hybrid form (Ex): Allows use of multiple appendages (tendrils), Reformation, +4 to climb checks, +1 to intimidation checks. -4 penalty to all other Charisma based skills.
Tangle Form (Ex): Allows use of multiple appendages (tendrils), Malleable, Climb 10 ft. and Swim 5 ft., and +8 to climb and swim skill checks. -8 penalty to all other Charisma based skills, creature is considered prone.
Form Tendrils (Ex): Can form tendrils for melee and grapple attacks. 1d6 damage
Malleable I (Ex): Can use tangle form to enter openings as small as one foot across.
Reformation I (Ex): Can reform lost limbs and organs instead of recovering HP from a day’s rest.
Tendril Bind (Feat): Once the Dryden has successfully pinned a grappled opponent, he may bind the target as per the Rope Use skill. This is done using the Dryden’s tendrils, and does not take continued concentration.
The binding is immediately released upon the target moving beyond the Dryden’s reach.
Description/Combat: An ankheg usually lies 5 to 10 feet below the surface until its antennae detect the approach of prey. It then burrows up to attack. (Treat this as a charge, even though the ankheg does not need to move 10 feet before attacking.) Clusters of ankhegs share the same territory but do not cooperate.
Environment: Warm plains
Organization: Solitary or cluster (2–4)
Treasure: None
Advancement: 4 HD (Large); 5–9 HD (Huge); and as Dryden racial class.
And second, here is the gift!

Until the end of Halloween, you can have The Valley of Frozen Tears for half-off!

The dark setting is perfect for your Halloween game, and offers such terrifyingly evil fey creatures as to make your players cry for mommy!

Thanks to all!

As of last October, I sold 11 copies of Dryden and 5 of VoFT. Total sales ended up bringing in $84.50 for the month, most of it being the Dryden.

In fact, Dryden hasn't had a day yet where somebody didn't want a copy! That's a record for me!

I feel LOVED!

Thanks again, I'm glad I'm considered to be making worthwhile products, and hope to continue for a long time to come.
