Happy New Year! Whatcha readin'?

1634: The Bavarian Crisis by Eric Flint and Virginia DeMarco. Excellent series of books. First saw them when 1632 came out and I saw the cover and went WTF??? Baen books puts out some great covers. 1633 has, IMO, the best cover!

I'm finishing The Wellstone by Wil McCarthy. It's set in the Queendom of Sol universe he created in The Collapsium. It's not as witty and flat-out charming as it's predecessor, though I suspect that's deliberate. It's a good super-science romp wrapped around a thoughtful core.

A Cruel Wind, by Glen Cook. It's an omnibus reprinting the first Dread Empire trilogy, published by Nightshade Books from San Francisco.

I also have the Passage At Arms reprint by Nightshade Books, also Glen Cook, waiting on deck.
