Message: <blockquote data-quote="Old One" data-source="post: 2310236" data-attributes="member: 83">Not a tabletop story...but back in my Boffer-LARP days - c.1998 (NERO System)...we were at a weekend event and during the first major combat of the first night, I tripped over a stump, cartwheeled to the ground and badly sprained my left wrist (a golfball-sized lump swelled up over the joint).  Once the EMT on-site checked it out and assured me it wasn't broken, I tried to get back into the action.Unfortunately, I was playing a dual-wielding swashbuckler type and couldn't really use my off-hand (blocking) weapon because it hurt too bad and I couldn't maniupulate it worth a darn.  My solution?  I reversed the blade (point down) and had my companions lash the weapon in place and immobilize the wrist to the greatest extent possible.  Still hurt like hell when I used it to block...but at least I got back into the action.Ran with that for the balance of the weekend, until mid-day on Sunday and ended up doing some permanent tendon damage which still bothers me.  Oh well.I also helped repel a 3:00 AM assault on our cabin by a roving monster band at another event, wearing nothing but my chainmail shirt and briefs.  While others were reaching for their pants...I was reaching for my armor...one has to have priorites <img src="https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/joypixels/assets/8.0/png/unicode/64/1f61b.png" class="smilie smilie--emoji" loading="lazy" width="64" height="64" alt=":p" title="Stick out tongue    :p"  data-smilie="7"data-shortname=":p" />!The battle turned in our favor once the NPCs playing the monsters realized what I was wearing and began laughing too hard to defend themselves.  That earned me the nickname of the "Tighty-Whitey Bandit".BTW - Sniffles wins my vote as the most hardcore!~  OO</blockquote>
