Harry Potter is sitting in a UPS warehouse

Amazon has shipped the new HP book. It's sitting in a UPS warehouse at this very moment in Omaha. Now, Amazon promised it would be delivered to me on the 16th, which is tomorrow and is a Saturday. I know that UPS does not deliver on Saturdays for regular packages and the "shipping type" listed on UPS' site is "Basic." I wonder if I'll get it?

Oh well, either way I'll definitely have it Monday and I don't have to wait in line or deal with crowds!

Sometimes UPS does deliver on weekends. I think this is one of those special times. Enjoy!

Did you get an email from Amazon? I did, and it said generally that I'm guaranteed to have the book by 7 pm on Saturday, whether it was shipped UPS or US Mail.

Where are you? I'm in the U.S. in Milwaukee--you could borrow mine after I'm done (probably early Sunday morning). Is that driving distance for you?

Stupid me. Amazon said I'd get the book on 20 July, so I figured -- what the heck, the wife's away for the weekend, I'd planned to spend it reading anyway, and went to B&N and picked it up. Started reading at noon.

My Amazon shipment arrived at 3 PM when I was about halfway through the book.
