Harry Potter & the ever increasing book size

I think it's because she just didn't have the clout that early in the HP phenomenon.

First book. No-one knew that it was going to become as huge as it is, and as a not-previously published author she probably didn't have much of a choice.

Because Americans, not knowing the history of alchemy and the Philosopher's Stone, would be puzzled about Socrates creating the elixer of life. Or something like that.

Demiurge out.
So is this something that is taught in school overseas? Why would anyone know about it?

IMHO, he should be barred about writing about children. IMHO, he's a very very sick man. Half his novels either are about pedophilia, or involve it. Probably the worst is "Firefly", but some of the others are pretty bad (the Tyant series, the Tarot series), too, and all seem to have undercurrents of it.

That and Satan worship. I've never seen an author go through so much trouble to portray Satan as a good guy!
