Hart-Felt Productions Requires Steampunk and Fantasy Writers

Hart-Felt Productions is expanding our line of products for our Kandris Seal campaign setting. To that end, we are looking for writers who are familiar with the HERO System and the SRD to create Steampunk and Fantasy genre books for the Kandris Seal setting. Familiarity with the setting is not required, as a copy of the campaign setting will be provided to you.

Each manuscript will be approximately 95,000 words, with a due date of September 30, 2006, and we are offering a royalty of 15% for this work for hire contract.

The successful candidate will be required to produce a detailed outline for approval within one month of the contracts being signed.

If you are interested in any of these projects please contact me at bosslady (at) hartfeltproductions.com with a brief bio, a list of publication credits, and a writing sample. Please include the writing sample as text in the message body, or provide a link to a web page or file to be downloaded.

You don't mind if I mention this opportunity in my newsletter, do you? :) I'm focusing November's Markets report on the RPG Industry.

While it may be totally unrelated to Kandris Seals, I have been working on a Steampunk Detectives Handbook for adventures in the sherlockian vein of gothic adventure as a kind of pet project. Its been lying dead in my drawer for awhile, but I still have it.

I have more than a working familiarity with the SRD, and OGL and a little for the Hero system, and have always admired the Steampunk Genre. I might not be the best choice as far as the hero system goes but I am interested.

What type of writing are you looking for in Kandris Seals Steampunk ( I.E. Fluff, Rules or both) I am interested in working on the project if it is mainly a rules write up. I can write fluff but prefer not to deal with the logistics of doing so if I can avoid it.

If you define "fluff" as anything other than rules, then the book would have a lot of fluff. The book will expand on the history of the campaign world during the Steampunk era, lots of characters and new creatures, and at least one fully detailed adventure.

However, we have just offered someone the contract, and are waiting to hear back from them.
