Hello;

I'm looking for a group or individual players with a venue to play D&D and other systems in the Hartford CT area. As a published game designer with 14 years of GMing experience, I think I'd have a lot to offer a group. Ideally, I'd be a player for a session or two or just hang out with the group for a bit before jumping into GMing. After I was comfortable, I'd run a campaign. I'm a very open-minded gamemaster, and would run whatever we agreed on by consensus. By no means would I try to push playtest materials on a group, and in fact might prefer to come up with something entirely unique for our games. I'm great at extemporaneous creativity, and the goal of all games would be the maximum fun, rather than testing any 'pet ideas' I had that week.

My availability is evenings (except Mondays) and weekends.

Some things I should have added in my original post;

I do not have long-distance transportation. I'm restricted to walking distance (which can be as far as the farthest reaches of East and West Hartford) or to places that are on the bus lines (Wethersfield etc.) I'm not hinting that I'd need a ride to more distant places, since I'd rather not be a burden on anyone.


On another note, I'm willing to be a player exclusively, if necessary. I'd still like to get a game to run but if I have to find another group for that, it wouldn't bother me. Even even weekly IRC games at the right times might fit my needs.

As for my style, I'm not a rules lawyer, I'm more interested in the simulationist and narativist elements of the hobby.

I'm 25, and the father of a 4 year old boy, which means that I can blend well with a wide range of age groups and life experiences.

In the interest of full disclosure, I'm a smoker. I can make adjustments to and compensations for my habit (Going outside or smoking before I show up), but I just realized that this might be an issue for some. I'm not one of the people who constantly reeks of cigarette smoke (I have this on good authority), but I do partake in the habit.

Hey,

Send me an email, I couldn't find yours. I play once a week in EH, and could probably pick you up if you were interested. We are playing Wheel of Time currently on mondays (bad day for you I know ). I would like to do something else eventually (soon?) but I don't know how the DM would feel. A lot of the guys play in three+ campaigns a week. I barely can make the one. Anywho, email me and we will talk more.
