Has 4e given everyone writer's block?

I'm not seeing a lot of tinkering or talks of new products coming out. Is everyone kind of holding their breath for 4e, or what? I know a lot of games, M&M, True20, and so forth, will not be directly affected by 4e, but it seems even those games don't have a lot of fire going on with them lately on these forums.

I guess its where you look. Wolfgang Baur is busy with his Open Content and Kobold Quarterly, Paizo announced Pathfinder RPG. True20 is a little on hiatus as we're expected a revised first edition in a month (core rules + companion - settings), and M&M published one new book this month. Green Ronin also published their Freeport d20 book.

GDW put a damper on things after they published Dark Heresy, and have the rest of the year to put out their other two books in the WH40K RPG series. Goodman Games announced their Eldritch rules set and recently published GM Gems, although their DCC series is on hiatus for 4E. Malhavoc published "Book of Experimental Might" as a capstone to 3.5 fighter rules.

I don't think publishers have throttled back as much as 4E is taking up all the air in the room. Its in people's nature to speculate and fret over the future of their hobby and ignore some of the good stuff coming out. If you really need a better perspective on what's being talked about in the RPG community, I suggest taking a visit over on the RPG.net boards. People over there are playing a lot more games than d20-based.

I have 2 True20 products about 95% completed. I hope to be releasing them in the next 2 to 3 weeks.

The first is a Blighted Bestiary, written by Hal Maclean and Matt Kaiser.

The second is a comprehensive book on Vehicles, written by Stefan Happ.

Darrin Drader is currently revising a manuscript for a True20 Space Opera, which I hope to have ready for publication within the next month and, let's see...

Ahh, Interface-zero, a ground-breaking Cyberpunk setting written By Matt Conklin, hal Maclean, and Patrick Smith is also slated for release in early May.

And Those are just the beginning...

Further down the line, we Have a Cthulhu setting, Land of the Crane, and more Blood Throne supplements.

Nope.. no writers block for RDP. :)

I'd expect to see more stuff for True20 later this year, when Green Ronin changes their licensing agreement to the more open format they talk about on their True20 website.

That fee was the only reason we haven't moved into supporting psionics for True20 - now that it's going away, we're planning stuff for it. :)

Very cool Bacris! I haven't bought True20 yet, but I hope to purchase the revised edition sometime this year.

Is your stuff for True20 going to be mostly PDF or do you have some print stuff planned too?

Well, a lot of that is still up in the air, but if the size is right, we'll likely do a POD option, as we're doing for some of our d20 material.

Book of Magic, yeah. That'll be out in print some time soon, too.

Later this year, Green Ronin's also publishing A Song of Ice and Fire, a 192-page full colour custom-built RPG based (of course) on George R. R. Martin's fantasy series of the same name. With supplements to follow.

A bit later than that, Mutants & Masterminds will get two new books, being Wizards & Warlocks and Mecha & Manga (working titles, IIRC.) I'm looking forward to the first of those, in particular. It's basically an official fantasy toolkit for M&M. w00t! :)

No, I'm not an employee. Just a fanboy - this year more than most. :D

In other news, Fantasy Craft is soon to make an appearance, which should be interesting. It's Spycraft (the system,) but fantasy.

Although, I'm really looking forward to 4e, I also plan on picking up Fantasycraft. And I pretty much buy every M&M book as soon as it comes out in print. :)

I imagine some of them have slacked off and others have not. There was a drop or so i have heard from several publishers in 3e sales. Necro i know has put a halt to all their products that wasn't already at or on the way to the printers after 4e was announced. They seem to be holding them back and ready to rewrite the crunch bits to fit 4e, to give them a nice jump out the door on 4e sales.

This is just my speculation mind you on things i have seen and read.
