I'd answer the question...but I have no idea what you are talking about. What does jumping the shark mean?

Good question. I'd suggest it's a regional dialect thing, but I don't know the phrase either.

I think it means that it has attacked SHARK and knocked him unconscious. SHARK should probably know better than to put hostile game setting books so close to his computer that they could leap at him and deal him so cruel a blow.

It is a site. Jumping the shark relates to when Fonzee from Happy Days jumped a shark just for ratings.
Basically the turning pt when a show or I guess game started down hill.
of mr a hockey should explain his own terms now where is my shovel

It means gotten corny, cliche, that sort of thing. It refers to an episode of happy days where the fonz jumped a shark on a motorcycle. They had done everything else.... there's a website on that, where you can look up shows and discuss when or if they "jumped".

As to the topic, I don't think so. Maybe you can say it about the Time of Troubles. (Didn't bother me, but others thought it was crap) Other than that not really, and if it ever does, bring on Al-Qa-fricken-dim! :D

FR may have back in second edition, but I think the new crop of FR material is some of the best stuff around now a days. As for greyhawk, well, they really haven't done much with it.

actually, if i am not mistaken, he jumped it on waterskis, leather jacket and all :)

Of course not. FR is supposed to be a high magic setting. Unless someone starts pushing pseudo-modern luxuries (based on magic) into it, it will always be what it's supposed to be.

Greyhawk hasn't changed in many years. How could it jump?
