The film comes out on March 27 and there are a bunch of clips online and I've seen a fair amount of trailers when watching TV over the past few weeks. This one looks really cool and they've hands down created the coolest motion poster that I have ever seen:

I grew up in CT and remember when this was goinig on. Even read a book about it in the early 1980s. There was even a joke about it on an episode of "Barney Miller" when I was a kid ("Posession is 9/10ths of the Law," hardy har).

From the previews I've seen, the phrase "based on actual events" is very loosely applied. Also, it was really more of a possession case than a "haunting" case. Still, I remember finding the real events very creepy as a kid. Who knows about the movie. The previews look plenty creepy though.

The trailer, I liked. It had me sold on seeing the movie. The non moving version of poster on the other hand, vaguely reminds me of an obscene internet meme involving a tub.

Some of the stuff that happens in the trailer it pretty intense, like when the kid wakes up with stuff written (or carved?) into his skin.

The mother from the real story, Carmen Reed, has done a bunch of stuff and is writing a book about what really happened in the story, so I think it's pretty reliable.

I felt it was entertaining. Quite decent for PG-13 horror.

Biggest quibble would be that there were a couple of places the dilaog could have been a bit better with just a few different words.
