Have fun

Villager
Probably just needs one more chapter before I can use this to bludgeon my buddy into finally making this thing into a one shot, but basic premise- playing as the bad guys, launching an assassination attempt on the Duke in a homebrew cityscape based on Venice kinda. Here's some fun backstory stuff to attempt to give the DM some narrative direction for the "campaign"

Assassins

Have fun, wanna guess I'm probably going to write the last chapter tomorrow but who knows.

It's meant to be really minimalist but pretty hard to know if it straddles the line of being alienating and horror-story adjacent or just incomprehensible.

Update: Done. I debated adding a second chapter for Prey but I kinda think that it is more effective as a campaign tool to not reveal everything re: motivations to the "players" if it does actually inspire my buddy to help assemble this one-shot from a mechanical perspective (they are newish to DMing and I am supremely retired from that nonsense).

Main question is, effectively, "does this document get you potentially interested in playing any of these characters as the villains in a one-shot aimed at taking down the Duke (which was then supposed to serve as a springboard for a broader campaign playing as new PCs to track down the 'villains', but that one is really just pure fantasy)?"
