Head set or Voice Changer for on-line game questions

Restarted my Maptools game- yay!

Looking to scare the players dotted all over the globe (Skype) by using either Voice Modifying software (maybe) but much more likely buying a nice headset with the Voice Modifying software (or built in).

Anyone have any advice- good/bad/avoid.

As I say the favourite is a headset which does it all for you, anyone recommend anything?

Does nobody use a voice changer or head-set equipped with same for on-line RPG (or other) gaming?

Is it only me ready to take this great leap in to the unknown?

I have not tried this, but it sounds very cool. If anyone can figure out a way to make it work in a face-to-face game, I will give it a shot.
