Anyone but me think there need to be more sonic-resistant creatures out there? Headless Medium Aberration Hit Dice: 6d8+12 (39 hp) Initiative: +4 (dex) Speed: 50’ AC: 23 (+6 natural, +4 dex, +3 studded leather) Attacks: 2 slams +8 melee; or 2 longswords +6 melee Damage: Slam 1d4+2; or longsword 1d8+2 Face/Reach: 5’x5’/5’ Special Attacks: Baffling attack Special Qualities: Blindsight, superior multidexterity, SR15, immunities, evasion Saves: Fort +4, Ref +6, Will +5 Abilities: Str 14, Dex 18, Con 14, Int 11, Wis 10, Cha 10 Skills: Balance +14, Climb +22, Move Silently +12, Tumble +20 Feats: Weapon Finesse (slam) Climate/Terrain: Any warm land (mostly Strogass and its sphere of influence) Organization: Solitary, pair, company (3-5), band (6-20), swarm (21-40), or host (41-100) Challenge Rating: 7 Treasure: Standard coins, objects; double items Alignment: Usually neutral evil Advancement Range: By character class (ECL = ?) Description: Headless appear to be 6 ½ foot tall humanoids without heads at first glance, but closer examination reveals that all four limbs are equally strong and limber, able to function as feet or arms as needed. A headless moves with a bizarre but graceful gait, and a headless can move quickly indeed. It is not known how a headless eats or perceives the world around it, but it is clear that it can perceive at least as well as a human or elf, and it can perceive at least far enough away to use accurate long-range missile fire. Baffling Attack (Ex): If a headless can make a full attack, it may choose to make a baffling attack, shuffling from limb to limb and attacking with all four limbs. If it chooses to do this, all of its attack rolls for the round suffer a -2 penalty unless it is a monk attacking with its unarmed attacks. It may also use a weapon in each limb, and may draw and juggle its weapons as a free action while attacking, but must have a limb free to stand on at the end of the attack sequence (usually requiring that it drop something). If a headless’ baffling attack sequence inflicts damage on at least three of the attacks, the defender suffers a -2 circumstance penalty on all dexterity-related rolls for the next round due to dizziness and confusion. Combat: Skills: Headless have a +10 racial bonus to Climb checks and a +6 racial bonus to Tumble checks. Headless Characters: A headless’ favored class is monk, and monk headless may freely multiclass with one other class. A headless monk suffers no penalties when using its baffling attack with its unarmed strike. Opinions about the ECL are welcome, as is any other feedback you'd care to give.
