Healing someone via cure spell in combat

I know that the rule in the book says that you can touch a friend automatically in combat. Has any DM here taken that rule out? What rule did you employ if you have?

Let's say that you require some type of touch attack. If I missed the touch attack, and I was holding this charge, what would you do if someone succuessfully hit me in combat?

I cannot see any good reason to change that. In 2e, I think it might have required the spellcaster to make a successful attack roll against AC 10.

Roll for damage. :D

Holding the charge will not discharge if someone hits you in combat. You must touch them.

Nothing. Being struck doesn't disrupt holding the charge - only if you touch something, or cast another spell.

It's like Shocking Grasp - if you cast it, and somebody stabs you, they don't get shocked.
