I haven't read the five pages of responses, so I'd like to just add my comments to the original post. First, good luck with the diet and exercise plan. I've managed to lose close to 100 pounds and keep it off for two years. I did this in response to a diagnosis of Type 2 diabetes. My blood sugar was through the roof. Thankfully, with some lifestyle changes including diet and exercise, I've been able to completely reverse my diabetes and stop taking my meds. I feel and look better than I did in high school. Enough about my testimonial. As someone who has been in the situation to have to pass up junk food at countless gaming sessions, I can tell you it's worth it. 1000% worth it. Eat apples, carrots, celery, chew sugar free gum, drink lots of water. Bring whole grain bread and make sandwiches with lunch meat. The reason why we snack so much at gaming is 1) because it's there and 2) because we're hungry and it takes a lot of garbage to fill us up when a little quality food will do the trick. I've found that my group has been supportive of this change. People who bring snacks have started bringing healthier alternatives. Others in the group are now on weight loss plans (another guy has lost 40 pounds following my lead). Eat a good, well balanced meal before you game. Get it in your head that you don't NEED to have snacks when you game. (I had to do the same thing when I quit smoking.) You're there to game and socialize, NOT to pig out on Doritos and Mountain Dew. I hope this helps. If you want any more specific advice, send me a PM. Retreater
