Fellow Canadian sounding off. I like D&D, specifically 3E. I have been gamin since 1991 and started on 1E. I found out a little later that 2E was already out (my GM was clueless as to this) and bought the books. I've had a love affair with Spelljammer, Birthright, Planescape, Dark Sun, Mystara/Red Steel, and Ravenloft. I've also bought the books for but never played Alternity (specifically Dark Matter and Star*Drive). 3E came around and suddenly the game became a lot easier for me to understand. The modularity of the game became its strength for me. I could see how easy it would be to design material for the system, something that held me back with 2nd Edition. Add to my experience the Palladium Megaverse (specifically Rifts/TMNT/Palladium Fantasy/Heroes Unlimited), Star Wars (WEG 2nd Ed Revised, D20 & Saga), GURPS, Buck Rogers, Master Book (Tales From The Crypt), Cthulhu (Chaosium & D20) and the D20/OGL experience (way too many to list here). I am ravidly holding onto 3E as I have invested thousands of dollars into the system and will never give it up. Right now I'm enjoying a plane hopping campaign between Eberron, Forgotten Realms, Scarred Lands, Blackmoor, Morning Star and god only knows what other worlds are in the pipe. The game is serious fun my character just entered the Renegade Mastermaker prestige class
