Help - advancing a monster

Hi,

I was wondering if someone could point me towards some guidelines for advancing monsters...

I'm looking to advance a Limbo Stalker (Planar Handbook, p.126) to 25HD. I want to add the following feats: Improved Critical (Claws), Power Attack, Improved Bullrush, Awesome Blow, Combat Reflexes, Improved Sunder

I guess the mechanics aren't that hard, just looking for pointers really.

Well he should have 9 feats, which you already have picked out. He'll get 4 stat increases for HD, should probably be using the elite array for hise stats if he's not already , his BAB should be +24, and since he's gaining 16 HD his CR should go up by +5 to 13.(1 per 3 HD since he's a magical beast.).

What kind of pointers are you looking for ? I'd ditch improved critical and go with Improved Natural Attack(claw) which with the size increases bumps it up to 4d8. Probably get more bang for your buck with an extra 1d8 per claw than imp crit. Improved Sunder? Going to be breaking PC's weapons ? boooo :\
Bump the resistance's and fast healing up to 15 probably. And i'd tweak the limited invisibility to be automatic success and not end when he moves. Maybe add DR 5 or 10/ Chaotic-aligned.
