Help Choosing Character (ECL 5) for Undersea Campaign

Using all available D&D 3.0/3.5 materials from WotC, allowing for non-standard races (per Savage Species, MM, MM2, FF), and with the following companions in mind, tiefling mermaid, oceanid (salt hag/triton offspring), sea haggle (fine damselfish hivemind), altered human (fish hag grafts), half-dragon succubus (using SS monster levels), and triton prince. Any (non-evil) class is suitable, as the bases have been covered.
