I got one of my players that wants to create the ancestral home of his people that they used to live in. I told him to build it up and see what he comes up with. Only problem is I have no way to draw this puppy out and get it mapped as I am not good at that type of things.
So I come to y'all for 2 things.
1. Build the Citadel
2. Draw the citadel (or show me how to do it or him)
What do we know about the landscape or area?
1. Picture Mt. St. Helens in the washington area as the home.
2. Built on a dormant (not active) volcano
3. Dwarven mines went deep in the earth and most of the forges were built near or around the shaft of the volcano.
4. A large fortress (consider it the keep but not all of it) was built coming out of the rock wall facing rising into the air at or near the top of the mountain.
How did it fall?
Insect like race (he says formians..) was awakened by the dwarves as they mined deep and there was a long and bloody war as the 'formians' drove off the dwarves off the land and took it for themselves. This was a milenia or more ago so take that into consideration. Don't worry too much about the changes as the 'formians' didn't alter any of the stone work..
So take out your thinking caps and get out the CAD tables and help me get something worthy enough to send chills down my players spines when they see it!
