Help ! FR Horde campaign.

DeathOfRats

First Post
Does anyone have a copy of the 2nd edition Forgotten Realms Horde campaign?

A party member played in it a long time ago, and one of the items he managed to get was a cursed belt that does nothing except prevent him from using other magical belts. Since he has a Hammer of Thunderbolts, this is extremely annoying for him...but since the DM who handed the item has left the group and is uncontactable we have no idea of the means of removing it.

He said there was another cursed belt when he found it, the one that changes your sex. Can someone please check it out and see if it a) actually exists and b) the means of removing it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

And no, the Horde boxed set does not contain any such item. The DM must have made it up (probably specifically in order to counter the girdle/gauntlets/hammer combo that was so popular in AD&D's halcyon days; rather a contrivance, if you ask me). I'd allow a break enchantment to remove the belt's curse.

He might be thinking of the 3 modules that complemented the Horde box set. They are: FRA1 Storm Riders, FRA2 Black Courser, and FRA3 Blood Charge.

It has been a long time since I've read them, but I do remember that they were surprisingly fun.

IDHTBIFOM (since I'm at work), so I'm afraid I can't look in them to determine if those items exist. :( Sorry.

You might want to check out SV Games (they have all the pdfs available) to see if those three are for sale.

huh?

taking the abbreviation thing a little far, aren't we?

Edit: Okay, I've figured it out (I don't have the book in front of me) but still stand by my statement.

Sorry. That abbreviation is heavily used on some mailing lists, so it's become somewhat of a habit for me.

Yes, sometimes abbreviations can be taken too far.

Yeah, it was those adventures. Bugger...looks like paying $15 to figure out what the item actually is seems like the only option :(

Thanks for the help.

that seems a bit extreme. :) doesn't anyone have the Magic Encyclopedia around here? i know i do, but not with me.
