Help! I'm trying to sort out 3.0 and 3.5 books!

First Post
I have a big stack of books, but some of them I'm not sure is of which edition. It would be awesome if someone could help me out. I'm talking non-core Wotc books and 3rd party books. If anyone can link me to a list of either I'd be greatful, otherwise, I could list the ones I'm not sure belong to which.

You might check the various publishers' websites, and see how (or if) they classify their books.

Other than that, the 3.5e PH came out July 2003; anything 2002 & earlier is definitely 3.0, and most early 2003 stuff is probably 3.0, too.

Post the stuff you're not sure about.

Er... it's a lot lol, I'll just check the dates and stuff. If people have a site that contains a list, I'll be really greatful though. Thank you for the advice, so far.

EDIT: well for one, all of the area forgotten realm books... like Silvermarsh and Underdark and so on. I'm getting these books from a friend, but somehow he doesn't have a clue.

I'm pretty sure that Underdark was the first 3.5 FR book. Check the date it was published on the inside cover page. Any books released after that are 3.5E

I think that the Book of Exalted Deeds and Draconomicon were also a couple of the first few books to be released for 3.5E (not including the Core books of course!)

Underdark was 3.5 in everything but name. It was on the cusp of 3.5, but everything was still 3.0 in that book.

Really, just taking 10 minutes and making a list and posting it would be the easiest way man. It really won't take that long.

cheers,

For books that came out right around the time of 3.5 and I'm unsure, just check out one or two sample NPCs or prestige classes from the book and check for skills that no longer exist like scry. ;)

There's some books during the transition period that said they were 3.5, but weren't as thoroughly updated as one might hope.

Probably a tetchy subject with Jeff in this thread. ;)
