Help me a little with a character backstory...

I want to make a Beguiler with the Vow of Non-violence. Can someone help me with a deity who'd support a character with a class based around deceit, misdirection, manipulation, etc, but still with Good intentions?

Does it have to be Good with a capital G? Olidamarra is a trickster god, but CN. Garl Glittergold is another trickstery god, and is NG.

Book of Exalted Deeds seems to imply with the Exalted feats that they are provided by a deity with capital G Good in the alignment.

Garl Glittergold could be a good fit but I'm aiming for a human character. If I can tie in a human, with motivation to be non-violent and manipulative, and connected to the patron of Gnomes, it could work.

Anyone aware of any more obscure deities, perhaps even members of sub-pantheons of the main gods, that might fit the bill?

Or, can anyone point me to a deity directory of 3.5 gods?

As this character develops further in my mind, I picture a vigilante, "Bruce Wayne-ish" type individual, who is willing to right wrongs using whatever it takes to do so, either a LG individual with a Code he lives by or a NG approach of generally work within the system, until the system fails. A willingness to appear evil to infiltrate evil in order to destroy evil.

Anyone aware of a deity that matches this type of character?

However, remember you can worship a philosophy in D&D, so you don't need a god for the VoN, AFAIK.

I'm currently favoring Rao or Trithereon from Complete Divine. It all depends on how Grizzled or Serene I want to develop the character.

Hm... someone who fancies themselves as a living cupid, setting people up for romance and relationships? that would have great roleplay potential, but the other party members would get pissed off quick!

I've thought about doing something similar, an Archer Paladin of Love. Mostly because arrows or charm person should cost the same as arrows of sleep.
