Hey all, in 3e i had this idea of a half-dragon fighter/battlesorcerer that could wear a mithral full plate, wield a greatsword, fly with wings cast spells and was an all around badass (hard build though). When 4e came around it seemed like that character concept would never work again because of the role oriented restrictions and such. I made a multiclass version of it and it didn't feel quite the same anymore. I took a break for a few months and now i return to find some awesome options to build exactly my character! Anyhoo, i started playing around a bit with the new hybrid options and after a while i realized there was a problem. There are too many good feat options to choose from. Usually its not really that much of a problem but it does make things a lot more complicated when you are shooting for a one-shot final build version. Here is what i've done so far, ill post both the Multiclassed version and the Hybrid version along with a list of the feats i am considering: Multiclassed: Hybrid: (Rant: Force the battle is too awesome for my character, i can't believe i am not getting Wyrm Form;_;. Maybe +8 to all defenses against at least one enemy every round is not so good... but i can't help but think it is.) At the moment i see that my character has so many awesome defense options that im thinking the enemies might just ignore me until the party is dead. (i hope not) These are the feats i am considering at the moment, still in the process of weighing each one to get the ones that would give the most benefit overall. Heroic: Arcane Implement Proficiency: Heavy blades (thank swordmages) Mark of Warding: marks from melee attacks give -3 penalty, +1 to powers that give bonus to AC (RP value mostly) Leather armor proficiency: +2 ac Hybrid talent: Dragon Soul awesome extra dragon magic effects Hybrid talent: Combat Superiority This, or Scion of Arkhosia? True defender, or winged dragonborn? Harlequin style add Cha which means up to +8 to all my defenses versus target of Brash strike, hit or miss Focused Expertise +1/2/3 hit with greatsword as weapon and implement Vigilante Justice: brash strike in place of combat challenge basic attack Draconic Spellcaster: +1/+2/3 feat bonus to hit on fire arcane powers, (wonder if it works with powers modified by a flaming weapon) Weapon focus: heavy blades +1/+2/+3 dmg, no brainer Power attack -2 hit, +9 dmg on melee attacks with greatsword, hmmm Dual Implement Spellcaster: up to +6 dmg on all arcane powers (hard to ignore, will have to use longsword to wield dagger in off hand) Surging flame +5 dmg versus fire resistant enemies, on all attacks made with flaming dagger White lotus defense: burning spray adds +1 to all defenses against hit enemies (+2 with mark of warding) White lotus riposte: if enemy attacked by burning spray attacks me, it takes (up to 23 fire dmg w surging flame) White lotus mastery: if enemy attacked by burning spray attacks me, i get to make another burning spray as immediate reaction (but takes away my action for combat challenge) Paragon Draconic Arrogance: +Str damage on several sorcerer powers. the feat is worth it just for the cool name. Sorcerous vision: use arcana in place of perception or insight, (no int makes this not as good as it could be) Ruthless Spellfury: Free Burning spray after a crit on a Burning spray Reckless Attacker: free basic attack after crit on fighter power Epic Epic Reflexes +4 Reflex (a must) Robust Defenses (the second feat for defense balancing) Martial Mastery (get a second use of Warrior Urging if lucky) Epic Resurgence: (getting my Thunder pulse back) Sorcerous Flux: choose enemies for attack rolls of multi-target arcane powers Less awesome choices: Heroic Empowered Dragon Breath: D10s. (might be worth it if the DM allows this feat to increase the Scion of Arkhosia powers damage dice) Rising spell fury: +1 attack with area and close powers after hitting single enemy with burning spray Focusing spellfury: +2 to dmg rolls after hitting multiple enemies with arcane powers, on melee and ranged attacks Armor Proficiency Hide: +1 AC, (elderhide is made of actual dragon scale!) Weapon Proficiency: Fullblade 1 avg dmg, high crit, big sword Weapon Proficiency: Double-blade -1 avg dmg, +1ac, works with dual implement spellcaster True dragon soul: +1 defenses after bloodied once, breath ignores fire resist. (might be good for powers of Scion of Arkhosia) Dual Implement Spellcaster: +1 to +6 damage on arcane powers Paragon Sorcerous reserves: +1 to attacks after all daily powers are gone Improved dragon soul: (further lowers resists by 2/5/10, and increase my own) Arcane spellfury: +1 to hit enemies that were hit by burning spray Epic Irresistible Flame (high level items can bypass elder red dragons resistance needing to spend a feat) Somehow i wished i didn't notice the Harlequin Style combo, its way too good to pass up and i would be obliviously unaware of how good "force the battle" can really be. This build has very good defenses and i may have a few problems at first but eventually my character will be very hard to hit. Sooo... what do you guys think?
