Ok, I'm running a one-shot game for some newbies this coming Tuesday and would love to mine EN World's collective consciousness for adventures floating around of a good length and feel for introducing D&D and role-playing in about 3-4 hours. Any suggestions? Thanks! :)

Currently considering: The Burning Plague, Hollow's Last Hope, A Dark and Stormy Knight, Whispering Woodwind.

Whispering Woodwind.

What has two thumbs that you cannot see because this is the Internet and I will not take a picture of them and upload it only to prove I have two thumbs so you can take my word for it and why would you not believe me anyway if I am clearly saying that as a way to simply make a point and thinks this is the adventure you should use?

Me.

 I loved WW on a read-through a while back, but IIRC it's longer than the other ones I mentioned. How long does it take to run? Could a new group finish it in 3-4 hours?

To shorten the adventure, you could cut out the middle with the Trundlefolk fairly neatly. If your group manages to find a stash of "special substances and items" from the equipment lists, that could assist in speeding things up toward the end. Maybe add them to the dead horse or in one of the Parvue locations.
