Help me choose my lucky 13th level spells

Contingency is useful to escape a tight situation via Teleport (15th+, since you don't have Dimension Door).

Just make sure, that the trigger is not a spoken word, as that might be exactly the kind of situation, where you cannot speak (i.e. grappled in a Silence area)! :D

Maybe a "mental command" would work, I guess you have to check with your DM for details.

You could go for Globe of Invulnerability, and I'm sure your party mates near you will appreciate being automatically immune to 4th and lower level spells...

But yeah, Disintegrate is pretty good to have, specially if you've already got Greater Dispel.

For a 4th level spell, I'd suggest stoneskin or fire shield. A little defense never hurt any spellcaster.

I wouldn't.

This character does not appear to be "personal defense" oriented.

I suspect that he relies on Greater Invisibility and mundane movement against the non-spell casting opponents and blasting away in some fashion against spell casting opponents who might be capable of seeing him with See Invisible or True Seeing.

There doesn't seem to be a reason for him to change tactics now and suddenly be in the midst of battle.

Exactly Right Karinsdad

Anyway Resist Energy a 2nd level spell, gives 30DR vs one energy and lasts 10min per level - a much better deal.

I plan to use contigency polymorph & telekensis against anyone who can see me - They will soon regret it when pinned against our party fighter :)

I'm quite a fan of Confusion at 4th level. Hits a large number of opponents and can really ruin lots of peoples day - with some luck on the rolls it can interfere with the people who made their saves, which is just dandy. :)

I think you'll find Fireball and Lightning bolt become progressively less useful from now on... I'd definitely look at upgrading your 'direct damage' over the next few levels. Shame it's core rules only - because the elemental orbs from Complete Arcane are great... Still, Chain Lightning, Cone of Cold and Delayed blast fireball are all good!

Otiluuke's Freezing Sphere is often over looked, but quite decent in the way of blasting type spells. It also has some (admittedly very minor) utility.

I'd consider Confusion a bit redundant with Slow, personally, since both are group affecting, Will negates screw people up spells. Enervation and Evard's are both excellent spells that bypass most normal defenses. While no Dimensional Anchor, Enervation can sometimes prevent the escape of casters if you suck away their teleport spells. And clerics get that spell anyway. However, Evard's is moving out of its sweet spot since the +8 is no longer so dominant.

I agree that basic blasting spells will soon require upgrades. You might want to consider spell research since you have Acid Affinity. I don't recall any big core acid based nukes.

Wall of Force is nice, especially if you often fight in moderately tight spaces.

A good point about blasting spells. However I consider an empowered fireball to be worth 15d6 to me, if at a slightly lower save (but the save is still a respectable DC 19).
I will make a point of Delayed blast fireball next level, and may delay/skip acid fog for distintergate and chain lighting. We will see how much use solid fog is now I am taking wall of force. Saying that solid fog saved our butts last week against the mother of all Iron golems - gave us two rounds to prep.

I still want to play with contingency and see if it is as fun as I think it will be. I am also heading towards dimensional anchor as my swap-out spell next level.
