Hello. As it will invariably get asked, "Why do you want to convert?" -- this is a game I'm running for my family, and I've been running it once every few months for a few years. Though True20 is a wonderful system, it is not as easy to learn and retain as 4E for a new player. I think with power cards, it will be easy... Maybe. There are five characters. Two of them should be easy. There is a human elementalist with fire shaping and telekinesis. That's simple, he's a wizard w/ scorching blast, mage hand, and whatever else he wants. There is a hobbit berserker, but it's fairly simple to just write in an encounter rage power and tack it on the fighter class. (He was the defender role previously anyway.) The problem lies in the human fallen paladin, the ogre summoner, and the slug fairy vermin lord. The fallen paladin had the light-blasty power, although he also had undead taint of 3. So he could blow up the undead pretty well, which are a large campaign threat, but he could hurt himself when he channeled the light as he was a tiny bit undead himself. He also wields the sword Ashbringer (I know, I know, and I'm sorry, but I do like it.) The sword is corrupted, it turns undead to dust upon touching them, but stands a high chance of raising his undead taint value further. He also was a shifty character, albeit not evil. I'm thinking maybe cleric/rogue, but I'm not sure how to model the "might hurt/taint self when channeling light" in 4E. The ogre summoner could, previously, with a summoning skill I wrote up, with a +6 mod, summon a dretch on a 10 (these were his ranged weapons ;)) an imp on a 15 (these were mainly for information and bargaining,) and a hamatula on a 20 (this was his big combat monster, which he rarely tried to summon because more likely than not it would turn on him, unless he prepped a lot.) He has a summoning circle drawn on his hand, and he can draw circles on the ground as well. With 8 hours he could get an additional +8 bonus to his check. He was large size (12 feet tall or so,) and fought with his bare hands, and threw boulders or dretches. The more things he had summoned, the harder it was to summon more -- +1 for each dretch, +2 for other stuff. The slug fairy was about 6 inches tall. He could animate the dead, dominate current undead -- but trying this power, if he failed, could allow him to be dominated by the undead. He rode around on a raccoon. He could summon swarms of bees or bugs to do his bidding. He had a stupidly high AC and Dex, but his toughness save was very low. The ogre had an LA of about +4 or so, as he was huge, hit very hard, and etc. Very high toughness. (Even though it didn't help him much as a caster, but, just how it is.) I'm not averse to doing LA in 4E, or something equivalent. The characters were about level 5 in True20 terms. Anyway, there's more to the characters, but that's most of it. I think I can struggle through it on my own, but I thought I would open this up to ideas -- especially as people are talking about troubles of converting 3E characters. Try mine. ;)
