We're going up against a psychic monster that trumps our magical abilities. Our DM uses the Psionics are Different rule, so one does not affect the other.
The beast is a combat monster, so we cannot attack it in melee without getting nailed and it automatically dispels incoming hostile maigc and has a limited ability to suppress magic in a wider area.
We hired a group of planar hunters who specialize in killing these things to whack it. However, we want to try some things on our own, in case we have to fight something similar later. The plan is to let the mercenaries engage the beast, then use our spellcasters to Wall of Stone all the exits closed. The clerics would then provide healing the mercs as they fell back, with the other characters using party-based spells or missile weapons.
Case in point: My Mystran priest is going to use a Limited Wish to try to punch through its magic-suppression ability, hoping to get a one-round window where we can cast spells directly at it.
Is there anything else we can do?
Thanks!
