Message: <blockquote data-quote="BiggusGeekus" data-source="post: 240416" data-attributes="member: 1014">6 levels?  [powergame mode ... activated]If the DM will let you be a drow, take it.  Drow's spell resistance is crazy undervalued for +2 ECL.We now have four levels to play with.You won't be ready to multiclass.  So let's make you a rogue 2/ ranger 2.  Take your longsword and change it into a shortsword.  The reason is that when you take Weapon Focus and other weapon related feats, they'll apply to both weapons instead of just one.  Plus, the longsword doesn't really do that much more damage to make it worthwhile.Remember to advance in rogue AND ranger levels.  You don't want to get the 20% experience penalty.  By the time you are a rogue 4/ ranger 4 you should be albe to qualify for pretty much whatever you want.For favored enemy, take human, elf, or whatever monster type you simply don't want to run into (DMs have a bad habit of removing monsters from their game world that their rangers have taken as a favored enemy)Both rogue and ranger have sneaky skills as class skills.  In fact, ranger is the only melee class that has them as class skills.  Put one point in Wilderness Lore just to save face and then never look at that skill again.When you get spells, do not take heals.  If you take heals I will drive over to your house and write: "This guy had his ranger memorize heal spells!  What a dummy!" all over your garage door in crayon.  Memorize summon spells.  As a part-time-rogue you're going to want to outflank monsters as much as possible and the summons will help you do that.[powergame mode ... deactivated]Or you could play a half-orc monk.  They're fun, too.</blockquote>
