Can I make up the PC backstory? Cause I have this idea that I think will work for Eberron/Xen'drik. ;)

Hit me, Nightfall.

Still thinking about psionics, just because I am not overly familiar with those rules myself.

I'm leaning toward a dedicated blaster - type sorcerer, just to keep the spell options as simple as possible for the player.

JPL,

Since you asked...

Sir Robert Il Rickan is a known figure in the Xen'drik jungles. Rugged explorer, finder of lost civilizations, indeed one of the few to make contact with the strange bird people called Raptorans along with the near giant like if more civilized goliaths of the lands. Sir Rickan, a warrior poet of some regard, has often used his considerable charm along with his knowledge of new "weapons" created by the gnomes of Zilagaro to help in his expeditions. Currently he has employed into his service a much smaller group than his normal near town like groups to do his expeditions. A fervent explorer, Rickan, a human who doesn't discuss much of his life previous to coming to Xen'drik, has many ties to the local powers in Stormhaven. He now leads a crew calling themselves "The Red Lady's Hand."

The red lady herself is former Pirate/privateer in the service of Aundair. Considered a scourge by many of the Princes and a few Karranathian frigiates, the Red Lady, who goes by the name "Fessia." is another intriguing sorts. Some claim she is the illegitimate child of the Queen of Aundair and some roguish scamp. Her courtly manner only belies the her fierce temper and often fiercer tongue. She knowns many dead languages. Some believe her current mission (for some thing she still maintains her ties to Aundair but she claims otherwise, with much heat to that effect), is to finance some Aundairian scheme or else at least find a way to win Rikan to her side. Indeed some claim they share beds, but the truth of such a claim is known only to the two of them.

Working closely beside her is the warforged runesoldier who goes by the name of "Bound". His skills primarily lie in following the dictates of the Silver Flame, but how that works with the Red Lady's often unethical and some time immoral acts is one known only to Fessia and Bound. Bound often employs a wide aresnel of weapons, but prefers to stick with his greatsword which he called "Silverstrike". Indeed many can see why, as it often glows with a silver-like light, some times cold, some time hot. His stoic demeanor is typical of many warforged. What goals he might have, or the reason he stands with Fessia remain between the two of them.

Third in the band is strange one indeed. No one is sure what race or even gender the one that calls itself "Gen" is. But it is obviously skilled in both clerical and monastic arts, or at least something like it. Gen's "techniques" are ones of stealth, silence and indeed shadow. He/she/it follows the Traveler and often acts as mysterious about its agenda as the Lady herself.

Rounding out the last of the group, is a figure that strikes terror into the hearts of even the most fearless warrior. The one called Blade. His obvious humanity is masked only by the fact that he is a product of a most unholy union between the living and the unliving. He bears the mark of Vol but swears to undo their hold on the world. Indeed, while he thirst for blood, his thrill at killing is only matched by the hatred at the Blood of Vol. While he is a great hunter, he is learning the skills of the artificer to compliment his need to enhance his own natural attacks.

howse that?
